Michael "Mike" Pratt is a former main character introduced in Season 3. He was Fiona's corporate boss and later boyfriend in Season 4.

Personality[]

He is good-natured, responsible, and desires trust and honesty, which Fiona enjoys but finds a little tedious over time but they end their relationship after Fiona has an affair with his brother, Robbie.

Season 3[]

When Fiona began working at World Wide Cup, Mike was constantly teasingly flirting with her in a friendly way but seemed completely envious when he saw Jimmy, Fiona's boyfriend at the time, at a company softball game. Mike later asks Fiona if she would like to go on a camping trip with him. He realizes that it sounded not the way he intended and says that she should invite her entire family, as well as Jimmy. She says yes and only brings Liam and Debbie, after getting into a fight with Jimmy about him moving into a studio apartment in Michigan. When she goes on the camping trip, she spends most of her time talking and drinking with Mike. He soon asks if Fiona was a 'gentleman' and when she says no and asks why, he responds that he is 'way to drunk to not invite you to my tent.' they are later shown about to have sex when Fiona stops them. He tells her that she is using him for revenge and Fiona tells him about the argument with Steve and he lets her rant about it. Then he shows her a tattoo that he has saying Eve on it. Eve is the name of his ex-wife and he tells her that he is going to change it to something different and they start joking around about what he can change is to. They began dating shortly after Jimmy's disappearance.

Season 4[]

In My Oldest Daughter, he continues to see Fiona and gives her a work assignment. When Fiona fails it, he forgives her.

In Like Father, Like Daughter, he is at home after sex with Fiona. He and Fiona discuss him going over to her house for a night but she turns him down because of recent family drama. Mike has her tell him of the drama, to see how bad it is and she tells him of her father's liver problems and him revealing that she has another sister that he never told her or the other kids about. Surprised and amused, Mike comments on her family drama and notices Fiona seems irritated that Frank never told her, despite her saying otherwise. Fiona states she thought she had her father figured out but he had one last surprise. Before Fiona leaves, Mike reminds her about eating dinner with his brother. During the date, Mike introduces her to his brother Robbie Pratt who is an addict. After dinner, Mike got drunk and wound up puking in the bathroom at home. Mike is tended to by Fiona who soon leaves at his request. Eventually, Mike gets up and is oblivious to Fiona and Robbie having sex on the counter, due to his inebriation. Mike goes to his bed and Fiona joins him.

During "There's the Rub", Mike apologizes to Fiona for his acts and promises to do something for her birthday. He later visits his brother, who was secretly having sex with Fiona. Mike tells him that he needs to get his life in check or he won't help. At his parents' home, Mike has invited Robbie and his sister and congrats Fiona for her success. He called out by Robbie who argues with his brother at Fiona's birthday party for not financing a trip. In his anger, Robbie tells Mike about his affair with Fiona, prompting Mike to give him a well-deserved punch to the face. Mike then dumps Fiona. Despite their falling out, Mike doesn't fire her and lets her stay employed but does apologize for not being interesting to her.

Very soon in Iron City, Carl calls Mike to bail Fiona out of jail following her arrest for Liam ingesting cocaine. Fiona thanks him and promises to repay her however, Mike makes it clear he wants nothing more to do with Fiona after this.

As of The Legend of Bonnie & Carl, he doesn't appear but Mike's sister calls Fiona out on her treatment of her brother. She states Mike was devastated at her cheating and has torn himself apart, she tells Fiona that she shouldn't destroy her family anymore by asking for a favor. These words causes Fiona to feel guilty at how she betrayed Mike.

  • He has the shortest number of appearances out of any other main character, with only 6 appearances as a series regular.
  • It was never made clear whether Mike, Robbie, or Jane is the oldest.
