Notes[]

  • This is the second episode to be named "Father Frank, Full of Grace" with the first being the season finale of the very first season of the US version of the show.
  • According to the showrunner, they wanted Fiona to appear in the episode, but Emmy was unable to fly from New York to Los Angeles due to COVID-related travel regulations.
  • At the beginning of the episode, the cast breaks the fourth wall by addressing the audience and telling them that they will no longer be telling them what happened previously.
  • Patsy's Pies has closed. Frank discovers that Patsy's is boarded up with a sign on it advertising the property for sale or for lease, suggesting that the COVID-19 pandemic had ultimately forced Margo to shut Patsy's down. On the bottom of Patsy's main advertising sign, the broken lettering spells out a message reading "Closed We Miss You."
  • Lip is now working as a delivery boy and considers selling the house to Shelby for $75,000. In addition, Tami might be pregnant again.
  • Carl and Arthur Tipping consider buying the Alibi and turning it into a cop bar. Tipping also suggests that Carl will eventually be returned to a full-time police officer.
  • Debbie considers moving with Heidi and Franny to El Paso, Texas.
  • Ian suggests him and Mickey adopting a baby, but Mickey fears being a bad father. After hearing about Lip's difficulties, Ian suggests that he and Mickey could adopt Lip's child if it comes down to it.
  • Frank survives his overdose, but he develops COVID-19 and dies of the virus.
    • The contents of Frank's letter is revealed although Franny wrote over it.
    • Frank is cremated, but his body blows up in the oven due to the amount of alcohol in it.
    • Frank's date of birth is May 19, 1954.
  • Fiona, Jimmy Lishman, and Monica all appear in the flashback sequence when Frank's life flashes before his eyes.
  • It has been exactly a year since the events of "Gallavich!" as this episode takes place on Mickey and Ian's one-year wedding anniversary.
    • It's stated as a plot point it is the 21st of the month, though which month is never explicitly stated.
    • A political rant in the middle of the episode places the date the episode takes place after January 6th, 2021. The episode aired mid-April, 2021, thus placing their wedding date either on January 21st, 2020 (a Tuesday, an unlikely day for a wedding), March 21st, 2020 (a Saturday, but after COVID Lockdowns began in the US), or February 21st, 2020 (a Friday wedding).
    • The end credits of the series finale shows that Frank's death date was March 21st, via the urn that rolls across the floor. Seeing as how he died on Ian and Mickey's wedding anniversary, it is a confirmed fact that their wedding date was March 21st, 2020.
  • The final fates of each character are unknown because there is no epilogue leaving it ambiguous what decision each character makes in the end.
  • Frank's final letter to his family is similar to the "Garden of Eden" intro speeches in the first four series of the UK Shameless.
