Davey Holmes was born on October 4, 1969, in Massachusetts. He is a screenwriter, producer, and playwright.


Davey has written for television shows including In Treatment for which he won a writers Guild of America Award for Best Screenplay - New Series, Damages for which he received a nomination for Writers Guild of America Award for Best Screenplay - New Series, Pushing Daisies, 3 lbs, and Law & Order. He is a supervising producer and writer on a new show on Fox, Chicago Code. He is also known for his work on Shameless.

Davey began his writing career in New York City with a production of his original play More Lies About Jerzy at Vineyard Theatre starring Jared Harris, and later productions of the play in London at the New End Theatre and in Los Angeles at the Hyworth Theatre starring Jack Stehlin.

More Lies About Jerzy is published in the collection Plays from the Vineyard Theatre by Broadway Play Publishing Inc.

Worthy - TV Show

According to reports from Reuerts and the Hollywood Reporter a spec script for an original TV series written by Davey, titled Worthy was purchased by the Fox television network. Davey is listed as executive producer, and Jake Kasdan as director. According to articles, the plot of the show revolves around a corrupt politician and blackmail.

Personal Life


Davey married actress Sonya Walger in July 2009. They currently reside in Los Angeles, California.

Other Biographical Details

Davey played keyboard on tour with the popular ska punk band, The Mighty Mighty Bosstones. He also appears on their 1989 album, Devil's Night Out. Early releases of the album list him as a band member; releases after Davey left the band list him under additional musician.
